Hi All

I have had a really bad experience with the NHS my story begins last June 2017 this is in Ramadan. My stomach swell up for 2 days and I was in agony getting sharp pains all over my back, front and sides and legs.

I was told by my GP its was due to severe bloating I may have IBS and to take Buscoponm Cramps and the normal tablets.

I took this for 2 months nothing worked. My periods came down to a day. I went back to my GP demanding a blood test and got told after a few days that I need to be referred to an gynecologist emeregency as my blood test indicates that there is something blocking my periods.

I was referred waited two weeks nothing i went back to my GP and was told my referral went astray. The GP than referred me again. I was given an appointment before going I was told to do a scan and blood test. I went in and the gynaecology took me to one side and told I may have a cancerous cysts to be 100% sure to have the scan done again and the blood test. I had this done and chased the hospital twice for my results. After a few months this being in October I was told to sign a document for my op which shows I have a cysts on each of my overies maybe more but I did not do an indepth scan for religious reasons. I have both cysts stuck to the uterus wall. Which they will need to fix.

I had my three month pre asssessment done in January only for me to ring them constantly as I am sick and tired of having a huge belly.

I have gained so much weight and is anyone experiencing loads of facial hair. I am getting loads more which is depressing and should I wait until the end of April my 18 weeks or go private.

I was told the after effects is a year to heal and no heavy lifting emotional mood wings and to keep active afterwards.

I am so scared as I want to get married and have a child but my chances are very small. Is this true?

It's a very personal decision to go private, but personally I had a extremely positive experience with it, which contrasted sharply with a subsequent stay in hospital for meningitis on NHS. I saw the local bsge endo surgeon privately, got longer appointments, additional support and a far better hospital environment and nursing.

I'm afraid I don't know much about PCOS so hopefully some other ladies can help with their experiences.

It is very unlikely that if there in cancer there that you wouldn't have been admitted within a max of 2 wks more likely 7 to have these dealt with. Most cysts are harmless. They cause pain. Usually they are monitored. If they grow fast, change or get to 5 cm they are removed. Perhaps ask your doctor to send you to another Specialist to get second opinion. Even a private Specialist will not operate. I would ask your doctor if you don't have the information of the report, size and type of cysts found.

Good Luck
