I had a lap 2 weeks ago and was told my pelvis was clear. Went back to the doctors yesterday who is going to refer me to a specialist and also write to find out what was actually checked in my lap as the details I was given is of no help at all and I might as well be at square one again.
As much as I don't want it, I want to be completely checked properly as my symptoms suggest otherwise. My gp was honest and said it can appear differently in people and because the pill is suppressing my symptoms it might be that it's very mild.
Who knows but I do know my bowel issues only started after all this pelvic trouble. I'm going to keep plodding on.
Hope you feel Ok, apart from an infection in my belly button I'm feeling pretty good now xx
That’s actually how I feel with being back to square one been in and out of sleep all day, I have seen the picture from my Laparoscopy but the surgeon wasn’t about to explain to me what everything is... gunna wait till I’m able to move by self to go back to the GP to see what and where we can go from now. Thank you xx
My gp has been very good although it's taken me a few to go to to get one. Im currently trying to get my photos as the nurse showed me them as my gynae rushed off without telling me hardly anything. Hopefully we get there in the end, unfortunately I didn't go to a specialist first x
I only saw then when I was being brought back into my room from recovery the nurse said the surgeon would be able to tell me I only saw my gynaecologist in recovery when she told me I didn’t have it.. then saw the other surgeon who come to my room on his way home ... just to tell me I didn’t have endometriosis and told me what they would be sending me home with. My GP I have is the one I’ve had my whole life and he’s a good doctor and normally we get to the problem but this time looks like it’s back to square one when I feel fit enough in myself I’ll make an appointment to go and see him so see what to do now xx
I was told exactly the same, someone came in and said I didn't have it and to go home and discharged from all gynae services and told it was my bowels. While I never even suspected this, I went back to the gp who told me the pain was most likely coming from my bowels and is testing me for Chrons or another inflammation as when I said all the symptoms I had, even obscure ones like dry eyes, she said they were all massive signs of a bowel disorder.
At this point I'm willing to try anything to see if it gets rid of the pain, but bowel and womb pain both seem very similar!
Yeah, while not ideal I guess its important. I took about 4 months to just recover and get my head round things, now I've had a stool test and going for a blood test which I despise, but it's affecting my life and I need a diganosis for things to get easier at work which sucks!
Yup! Just gonna feel back on my feet before I book an appointment with the GP
I was told my my GP That they know that it takes on average 3 laps before women are diagnosed with endo. I was told I didn’t have it by a really rude and unsympathetic female gynaecologist despite being told prior to the op st a scan that my pelvis was frozen. During the lap my ovary and appendix were attached to my uterus with adhesions which were freed. I’m convinced I have it as I have every single symptom and after plotting my symptoms against a calendar of my cycle gp 100% agrees. Thankfully at the moment the pill eases a lot. My point being I think a lot of women are being fobbed off. Another female gynaecologist I saw prior to my laparoscopy told me that she doesn’t always tell women if they have it because it can make woman panicky and anxious with the diagnosis!!!!
Last year I had a lap and was told I had no endo, and the gynae consultant refused to see me back as there was “nothing gynaecologically wrong with me at all”. This in itself was rubbish as adhesions had fused my organs together.
I just had another lap last week and they confirmed I have endo in more than one place.
I know how disheartening it is, but speak to your gp and ask to be referred to someone else, an endo specialist if possible. Keep fighting to go back and see someone else, you know your own body xx
I was thinking about you and was hoping your surgery went well. Pleased to hear no endometriosis but i hope they find the right treatment for you soon. Get some rest and eat lots of chocolate
