CA125?

Hello,

Just wondered if anyone knows how long it takes for a CA125 blood result to get back to the GP? I had it done last night plus a load more bloods but it’s playing on my mind so I just wanted to advice

Mine was a week, then it came back raised (it was 60, when normal levels are 35 and below)

As a result I had a two week urgent referral to oncology gynae, but was reassured it was raised due to endometriosis/ cysts.

So even if it's raised, it doesn't mean it is ovarian cancer, as endometriosis and several other things can cause a raised result.

Mine was about 5 days - came back at 119. I had it taken twice more before I was officially diagnosed and it was always raised - 85 and 107. As has been said, it is NOT diagnostic for cancer, it measures inflammation which can be caused by lots of different things including endo.

Mine was only a day or two, and came back at 473, GP phoned me immediately and made urgent referral to gynae oncology (I already had a known mass on ovary). Scary as hell, but surgery ruled out cancer, so as others have said, it is often raised with endo and other causes, so try not to panic. X

Mine was about 2 days, it was 92. And it was high because of the endometrial cysts in my ovaries. So it doesn't always mean you have cancer.

Hi, my test took 2 days from the day I have blood to come back and my gp called as soon as they got it although mine was raised slightly at 45. But I had several appointments for scans etc after that to determine whether it was cancer or Endo. Pretty scary I know but don’t worry. With Endo ca125 is almost always raised and unlike mine it’s usually very high in the hundreds so don’t get scared if it comes back raised. I know it’s scary when the doc tells you they are doing a cancer test.. but I think this determines the presence of Endo. Keep positive! X
