ah coffee, my one vice. I can give up everything else, caffeine, gluten (allergic anyway), dairy, grains, wine, etc...but I think caffeine may have potential to worsen endo? has anyone heard this or had a similar horrible realisation? haha
do I need to give up coffee?: ah coffee, my... - Endometriosis UK
do I need to give up coffee?
I gave it up because its acidic, inflammatory and I had to for other health reasons but at the end of the day its personal choice. If you wanted you could try replacing it with turmeric chai latte, chicory, or liquorice and cinnamon or green tea and see how you feel after 12 weeks. If you still miss it then reintroduce it.
Tea was my main vice and I now drink a good decaf. I had a headache for 2 days when giving up but now feel better. Recently was served mistakenly served a caffeinated coffee instead of a decaf and I felt terrible. It massively affects your blood sugar and in turn your hormonal response. I have picky tastes but have found good decaf versions so you’re not limited to herbal teas. Coffee wise I now opt for Americano as I’m limiting dairy. Best of luck!
Definetly hardest decision of my life but it’s true caffiene in general plays a big role in endo pain , I literally gave up all caffiene and allowed myself 1 cup once a week usually on a Thursday , I hate to admit it but i sleep better I feel better my skin is plumper and my pain is at its minimal so yessss it does make it worse !!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I’ve read about this too! And I looove coffee. I read that caffeine can increase estrogen in the body which in turns feeds the endo.. so this is my main concern. I’ve stopped drinking for a month but I think I will still have it when I travel or see a really nice cafe. :/
I gave it up a couple weeks ago. I've switched to turmeric latte as someone else mentioned and also this hot chocolate...it's soo delicious.
How do you make chai latte I tried it in pret and it was fantastic
