Hi. I am just looking for some help and advice from you all. I have chronic pelvic pain everyday, where I have a dull ache as well as this sharp cramping all day long. I then will have the most awful pain to the point I can’t move for around 5 mins every other day or so. I also have heavy bleeding, 4 months none stop, pain in my back and legs, and pain and blessing with sex.

I had a lap last year, with suspected endo and adenomyois and he found no endo but fitted a coil for adenomyosis. Nearly a year on I’m still in the most awful pain. Is there a chance endo was missed on my lap? I don’t know what to do. I can’t sleep, I am so fed up of the constant pain.

Thank you x

Go back, that's not normal. I have to say I ended up having a surgery done in Thailand because I couldn't stand the pain and being on painkillers, even though my pain threshold is pretty high normally. She recommended proper surgery because there were chocolate cysts on both ovaries and she suspected further adhesions and bowel problems. So she opened me up and remove everything that didn't belong there. While laparoscopy is a great way to avoid major surgery, in my understanding it has its limitations since they can't move around as freely. So I think there's a chance they missed something.

Thank you so much, it does make you think how much they can see and do through a lap!

It's completely down to who is performing your surgery. Laparoscopy isna great tool but if the surgeon isn't an endo specialist or at least experienced in endo they may miss it. My first lap no endo was found by the surgeon. 2 and a half years later I've had a second lap and endo was found. They amount doesn't correlate to the amount of pain you may feel. So it could be difficult for a surgeon without experience to pick up on it. Either way even if you are endo free the treatment they've given you isn't working. I think a year is a good amount of time to see if the coil will work. I'd go back to gp and see if they can refer you to a endo specialist. Google bsge centres in the UK I really hope you get it sorted x
