Hi all, (sorry this is a little long)

I'm new on here and just looking for advice. I've always struggled with my peiord, being irregular (the gynaecologist seemed to struggle to work out my dates) I started experiencing quite severe cramps when I was around 11 and started my period when I was 12, over the years I've had a variety of issues ranging from pain during sex, very heavy prieods that don't seem to stop, spotting and debilitating pains. As far back as I can remember I've been going to the GP and being made to feel like it's in my head and sent away. In the last couple of years it has felt like everything is getting worse, pain, spotting and particauly bad cramps followed by a migraine (the migraines are fairly new, only started to get them in the last 3yrs) over the past year I seem to be permanently in pain, cramps (which seem to come in a variety of ways) back pain, tired and really having trouble going to the loo. I was examined and told it could be a cyst then I had an ultra scan and they didn't seem to find anything (although initially it was meantioned it could be a polyp but they were unclear) because I'm 34 and still have not been able to conceive I've now been referred for a Laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, and a dye test. I'm terrified of what they might find but equally concerned that they might find nothing, So what is causing the pain? If anyone has been through something similar I would really appreciate some advice. Thank you.

Hey!

So sorry to hear of your pain. I can totally relate to what you’re experiencing.

I’ve been suffering from aged 12 with similar symptoms and was diagnosed last month (aged 23) with endometriosis which was found during a laporoscopy.

Hopefully once you’ve been for they tests you’ll have more information. I know how hard it is to not know what’s causing you so much pain and suffering.

Good luck, hopefully you have answers soon.

Hi Bell,

Thanks for replying it really helps to hear from someone who can relate. I'm finding it quite hard to try to explain it to friends and family.

I totally understand. Nobody really knows what it feels like unless they are going through it. It does make it easier when you finally have a diagnosis. I’ve found a lot of useful sheets online which helps explain endo to friends and family. Hope you’re doing ok, if there’s anything else I can help you with, or just to chat, I’m here! X
