Hi, I got my MRI results back today, I had plain MRI with no budcopan or contrast agent due to breastfeeding.
I can't remember a lot of what the consultant said, but I think she said everything pretty much looked clear, I had a tiny fibroid, and thickening on the rectovaginal passage indicating endometriosis. I'm being referred to the endometriosis specialist.
I was wondering if it's common to have endo on the bowels but no where else? Or if it's just not been picked up?
Thank you

Big hugs. It's a shock to the system being diagnosed. It is possible and RV Endo is a distinct subtype of Endo which tends to centres around the RV cavity, sometimes also with ovarian cysts. But MRIs aren't perfect and don't show the whole picture, more Endo maybe present than picked up on the scan.
I also had a RV Endo nodule as the main issue along with a small cyst that was deemed barely worth mentioning but caused agony after my diagnostic lap. Sometimes surgeons don't mention all locations so ask for the post operative report.
I later found I also had Endo above my ovaries, on my uterosacral ligaments and on my bladder.
It's good you're being referred to a Endo specialist. Make sure it's an accredited BSGE Endo centre.
