I got diagnosed with endo 9 years ago when I was 16 and since then I have had 5 laparoscopy with Helica treatments, plus a round of Zoladex over a six month period. The pains are coming back after treatment quicker than ever and my pain is now seriously impacting my life, plus I have issues with bladder control and pain during sex.
I have been seeing members of my consultants team instead of my consultant this time around and at the lastest, the doctor asked me how my bowels are as he can see i have previously (6+ years ago) been treated for IBS. I informed him that my bowels are a small issue, barely bother me and I control it perfectly well with diet by avoiding trigger foods. He has for some reason completely unknown to be taken this to mean that I this is the cause of my pain. I have now been signed off of gynae and referred to gastro.
I'm 25, in pain, wetting myself and can't have sex. And now the doctors who are supposed to be helping me are fobbing me off to other departments.
During my appointment he very much indicated a reluctance to do another operation which I'm wondering is what has caused him to try and send me to gastro, but my pain isn't gastro related.
I have never had this problem when seeing my consultant but this time around I don't seem to be able to make an appointment to actually see him.
Has anyone had a similar issue? How can I contact my consultant to get a second opinion? Can I do anything to complain about the doctor who has directly ignored what I've told him and get the treatment I desperately need? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I am about 2 seconds away from a complete breakdown regarding this
