UTI's

Do any of you guys experience frequent UTI's?

I seem to constantly have them and whenever the doctors test it, the results always say blood in the urine.

Is this a symptom of endo?

Yeah I've had the pelvic / abdominal pain for 7 years a lot more than just on my cycle. But lately I've had symptoms from bowel / bladder and it was suggested that the endo might be growing there I just wondered if anyone else has experienced this

All of those have been ruled out. I've had cysts before and I've been tested for IBS and it's been ruled out. I'm going to see an endometriosis specialist, I was referred yesterday

I didn't really have my urine tested that often but I used to get cystitis and thrush every 5 minutes. I had endo on my bladder and left ureter.

Hi ,

I suffer with recurring UTI ..every 3 weeks this has been going on for at least 18months ...

I'm 58yrs old have been suffering with endometriosis since my 1st diagnosis at age 46 ..

I have been under care of a urinary gyn specialist for 13 yrs .

Had been taking countless antibiotics of number of years on a daily basis to prevent infection .

This has back fired, so much that l have become immune to most antibiotics...

There is only 1 antibiotic I can have now that is prescribe..bybthe hospital only ..

Like yourself I too have blood present , and have persistent pelvic pain and feel really tired .

It's mainly E coli ..but klebsiella infection I have this time..

For the past 11 yrs or so have been endo free no pain or symptoms nothing ...

( I had total hysterectomy in 2004 ) with Zoledex injection and prostrap..) which worked .

But now back at specialist..waiting to go for a Mri scan on monday..as a 6cm complex cyst has been found ..not sure has endo has returned..

Not sure if this is any help but this is my story

Love Tilly

You've had a time of it! I'm glad I'm not the only one. It's so frustrating, this one is particularly unpleasant as I'm having pain when my bladder is full which is horrible!

I just hope I get to see a specialist soon. I've written some posts with my story of you want to have a read! Xx

I have the same issue, pretty much always have symptoms of a UTI and when my urine is tested, its confirmed! I had antibiotics 9 times in the last year and a few times I haven't been able to take time off work to go to the docs so have tried to self treat UTI's. I am so convinced this is linked to endo however have been referred to an urologist to confirm the cause of the frequent infections xxx

I always had uti and was hospitalized with acute pyelonephritis two years ago for ten days and they couldn't find a bacterial cause! The dr suggested then that it could be end more related however I started drinking aloe Vera daily (I was sceptical tbh but a herbalist recommended it) and since 15 months ago I've not had a uti! It's amazing stuff!

Hi, I've always suffered with UTI's since I was 13! I'm now 42 and still suffer.... Think I must have had 8 lots of antibiotics over the last year. I think endo and UTI's are definitely linked because I didn't know much about endo until my pain got so bad I was sent for a scan and referred to gynae. I had a large chocolate cyst which seemed to be growing by the day, I looked pregnant! I had it removed back in March and I was good for a few weeks but then started to get UTI's again, I'm am now getting more pain on my good side which is worrying, not sure wether to ask for a scan to get this checked out, my left side is not painful anymore as had the ovary and tube removed along with the cyst. I'm fearing the worst that it's come back but surely this wouldn't be the case so soon after surgery? My gp has put me on the mini pill to try and ease symptoms and mood swings but maybe it's making me worse 😳

I have wondered if I need to get my bladder checked as I don't know anyone who suffers with UTI's like I do, it's draining and painful and I wish I had some answers

Hi ya, I've been having similar happening to me since September last year. Each time my urine was dip tested it showed blood and leukocytes but no UTI infection found when grown on at the lab. This went on for many months, endless ABs but on course they did nothing because I didn't have a UTI! I suffer with terrible bladder pressure, pain and urine urgency but no stinging or pain when passing urine.

I have severe endo and as far as I'm aware no direct bladder involvement (endo found on ureters) but asking to be referred to BSGE centre because I have endo on bowel. I will know more once under their care.

I'm exactly the same. I have suffered with them since before my diagnosis 9yrs ago.

This year has been a nightmare with having 7 confirmed infections already.

Cystoscopy and Scan were normal. I constantly feel drained with them. X
