Hi my names Nikki,

I am new to the group, I have been suffering with my cycle since I started at the age of 12yrs, I had very unpredictable cycles for years, some would last up to 3-6 months with no break, I would also get really bad cramps in my stomach with a really bad pressure pain and dull ache in my stomach and legs, for years I was fobbed off by doctors, in my student days when I met guys I never used any protection (stupid I know) and never got caught pregnant so I new that there would be something wrong when I was older and ready for children.

When I meet my husband I went to the GP and told him that we were ready to start a family and I new that something was wrong with me trying to conceive, so he referred me to the gynaecologist at the hospital, after lots of tests they told me I had polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and I would have trouble to conceive if I didn't loose some Weight, well after that I tried every diet you can think of to try and get the wait off but nothing worked, I felt like I was banging my head against a wall, then I started with a personal trainer who was fantastic with me, I managed to lose 3 stone I a year and half, and then we started to use. clomid for about 2yrs, my cycles and pain got more intense and I was bleeding so bad I ended up at A & E thinking I had a miscarriage but this was not the case, it was caused by the clomid.

We started private fertility treatment about 2yrs ago, the next step for us was to try IUI Treatment, the day I was due to start the treatment they scanned me and seen a shadow on my ovary, so the treatment got put on hold while they investigated, it showed I had fluid in my left tube and a 6-1/2cm cyst on my left ovary which was pressing on my bladder and causing incontinence problems.

I had a lap at the beginning of June which confirmed I have stage 4 Endometriosis, they had to remove my tube but could not get the ovary as it was fused to my womb and bladder, they managed to drain the cyst only due to it having its own blood supply, I go back for follow up after surgery on the 24th July for more information, from what I can remember what he told me due to being off my face on powerful drugs, I would be looking at further bladder and bowl surgery, but he is hoping in the meantime I can get pregnant buy myself, he said the disease has only attacked my left side and my right side is in really good condition. Leaving it tot ltd p
