Bowels and endo

So I had a lap 3 days ago now and prior to the lap I "went" once a day. The surgeon said I had endo on my bowel and so he zapped it. Anyone any idea when I can expect to be visiting the toilet or whether I should be worried if I don't go by?

Hey there.

Try not to worry. I had my bowel shaved and didn't have a bowel movement for over a week. The bowel goes into shock from being touched. I would suggest to eat very light, salads or soups. Plenty of liquids too. I was given a daily laxative as I was taking codeine which causes constipation.

Best wishes, speedy recovery x

Hi I have severe bowel Edno too and I'm waiting to see my second specialist for treatment after a diagnosis lap. Was there any mention of a colostomy with your surgery. Very nervous as I don't want this outcome x

He didn't mention it but I'm so against it, i said I'd only wait till it was untreatable to go that far as a bag. He's said it's my choice, take it as it comes, there's so many options before a bag keep an open mind :) x

Hi there just wondering you ever had your surgery as I have mine in two weeks to remove severe bowel endo and am told my chance of a temporary stoma is 50/50 x

My consultant was confident it wouldnt come to that, as very experienced. But saying that there was a bowel surgeon on call at the time, incase anything went wrong. I understand all your concerns, but I was worried if left untreated it would spread into the bowel. It might be worth a second opinion to make sure the bowel isn't at jeopardy. Or try BCP to try and prevent further growth.

All the best x
