I recently underwent a laparoscopy and was diagnosed with endometriosis. It was removed as much as possible. I am now unsure on what happens next? What I can do to prevent it or any advice as I'm new to it all.

Hi,
I got diagnosed yesterday and they inserted the coil and have given me a follow up appointment with my consultant in 3 months.
Have they not given you a follow up appojntment? xx
I hope that went well and works for you, xx
I have a telephone appointment next month, but no information was really given to me on what I can think about having or any information how I can help leading up to it xxx
Thank you! I hope you haven't been in too much pain after your laparoscopy.
I think they often prescribe contraception afterwards like the pill but I've been on the pill since I was 13 and it really hasn't helped nor has it stopped me getting endo, I think it depends on the person really. I'm pretty new to this too but I've heard a lot of people talking about an endo diet that could be useful. I read below you've been trying to conceive? This is something I'd mention on your telephone appointment as they may be able to guide you on moving forward
Hope this helps you lovely x
It was 2 weeks yesterday so I have been in pain but I am just starting to feel myself again this week which is a big relief. Other than the stitches which unfortunately haven't dissolved everything seems to be as it should following a op. I hope the same for yourelf and a speedy recovery.
I think your right everyone is different like you the pull just messed me up even more which isn't what you want so it's just other options to look at! I haven't Hurd of the diet though. Do you know what that includes?
Yes we have been. Well it's been something we haven't stopped or tried for we've put it down to what happens will happen hoping for the outcome it's just now being diagnosed weather it's the step of having contraception for the time being or stay put but that's what I need the information on so thank you I will put that question forward in my follow up.
I wish you the best and a speedy recover. Hoping all is well.
Thank you it has been very helpful and reassuring I'm not being "silly" so thank you again. Xxx
Ohh glad to hear! Hopefully them stitches dissolve soon! I've got non dissolvable stitches in my belly button and the other two are glued back together which is odd coz I feel like everyone else got dissolvable ones.
Yeah I feel like I've tried every pill available and they've either sent me loopy or not worked in the slightest so it's not for everyone
I think the diet is about staying away from things that trigger hormones such as soy milk and certain meats and dairy. I'm going to research myself some more because I feel like a diet change would be good for me
Definitely put that to the dr and have a think about any other questions you'd want to ask just for your own peace of mind!
Thank you and all the best for your recovery too! You are definitely not being silly! Any other questions or if you just need a chat pm me I'd be happy to talk xx
They should have given you a follow up appointment, usually about 6 weeks after your operation. Having said that, unfortunately you usually can't prevent it - there is no cure so to speak, and, without meaning to worry you, it could very much come back. Whether it will come back again will very much depend on where it was, how bad it was/is and, sadly, fate. My surgeon advised me to go back on the pill as that tended to help delay it coming back, but it was no guarantee. The surgeon or your doctor at your follow up appointment should be able to advise you what to do next, and whether there is anything they recommend to you. I think everyone is different, and it may be a bit of trial and error as to what works, depending on how bad your condition was.
If you haven't been given a follow up, contact your GP and make an appointment to see them to discuss the next steps.
Thank you so much that was a relief to read. I've had sonnuch trouble with contraception for example, the pill and implant it's unsure on what will help! But I suppose like you said trial and error. I'm in a situation of wanting to conceive as it hadn't happened within the past 2 years before being diagnosed but I'm 22 and it's a shock to the system I'm so unaware of endometriosis. Xx
My number one advice would be to look into the deppo injection, it works the same as the pill and you get an injection every three months and stops you ovulating which means no periods = no Endometriosis, this has been my god send for months and without it I wouldn't have be able to work
After mine removed my gynea told me to stay on combined pill continuously so as not to have any periods, worked for me. Plus I altered my diet. Did York test. Malt Barley extract causes me inflammation big time.
