Hey, has anyone else had discharge issues, I don't mean just around your period, for the last 6 weeks I've had very watery/smelly discharge like fishy, went to docs who did swabs for Bacterial vaganosis but they've come back clear, could it be the endometriosis? Please help xxx

I would get swabs done again and even a Pap because fishy discharge can be a sign of BV and a few STD's.

Endometriosis can't cause smelly discharge.

No BV came back clear and I've had full sexual health screening before I got with my husband

Just because you've had a full sexual screening before you got with him doesn't mean you shouldn't have another one now, std's in men sometimes aren't as apparent as in women. Not to mention most don't have symptoms.

Not to mention Pap smears should be done once a year.

Endo won't cause smelly discharge an infection however will.

Especially fishy discharge, fishy discharge can be caused by trichomoniasis also.

If you do not get proper treatment for an STI or STD you will develop PID than you will risk infertility as well as chronic pain. I'm sorry, I don't mean to say he or you have been unfaithful but these things can happen and PID is where the infection in your vagina infiltrates your cervix and attacks your reproductive organs. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Hello I had a lot of issues with this a couple of years ago before i was finally diagnosed with endometriosis. I have read that recurrent thrush/discharge issues can be indicative of endometriosis but I felt that the doctors I saw about this didn't make the link so im a bit unsure about this . The discharge I had sounds really similar, I had numerous swabs taken it sometimes came back as bv, sometimes thrush and sometimes clear. I think there is maybee a high false positive testing rate with this stuff though? I did have a chlamydia test which came back clear but they did want to rule that out. I tried some treatments (medications) but it always returned and I didn't want to be using stuff while trying to conceive. I did eventually manage to clear it and haven't had it for a couple of years now. I tried some supplements recommended by a nutritionist and changed my diet a lot. It was always worst for me around the days I was ovulating. It does sound like bv and I always thought that for me too but I tried anti-biotics to clear it with no luck and I only had 1 positive swab result for bv despite having many taken. Hope this improves for you soon.
