Let's talk endo...

Hello ladies. I hope you are all doing okay this evening. I'm on a bit of a mission, and I'm hoping some of you can help me.

Endometriosis needs to me talked about in the media. Newsbeat covered it last week (poorly, and I'm sure many of you'll agree that we need it be discussed more, and in more depth) but I want This Morning to cover it.

I've found one of the producers on Twitter (from what I can see, she frequently uses Twitter to 'find' stories) and I could do with some support to get her attention.

It came to my attention earlier today that Kate Ford (actress from Coronation Street) suffers/suffered with endo and this will hopefully get This Mornings attention. I'd love to say they'd cover our illness without a celeb angle, but we all know how these things work.

If you have Twitter please tweet @hathamiltonitv and ask her to cover endometriosis on This Morning. Loop me in (@gemmadiaper) if you'd like :)

Hopefully a segment on This Morning will spark wider interest from the national broadcasters and the likes of Channel 4 or BBC2 will be tempted - we've seen numerous documentaries about other illnesses, I want endo to be next.

I'm not on twitter so unfortunately can't help directly but there are a number of celebrities that I have read have endo which may help. Louise redknapp has been on strictly recently so quite current, ex tennis player Annabelle Croft and Carol smilie have campaigned and designed knickers for periods but I can't remember what they are called! I'm not sure if they have endo but they certainly support endo uk. I'm sure they are others I've come across when reading or watching to but I can't think at the mo-perhaps worth a google. Good luck xx

I am on twitter so will definitely tweet! However I watch This morning and loose woman all the time and remember they did have a lady on there before who had endo. Also one of the main loose woman ladies has recently had a hysterectomy at a young age as she has suffered from endo and spoke about it on the show which is lovely to see.

It does annoy me that many people don't know about endo, the pain and amount of medical procedures we go through to still suffer afterwards and then to get people saying "oh it's not that bad" or "isn't it only when your on your period" we need to get out there and speak about it for people to understand what woman of all ages all around the world are going through!!

Xxxxx
