Puzzled after diagnosis......

Yesterday I had my diagnostic laparoscopy and my surgeon found some endometriosis under my left ovary. They burned it off and sent me packing with the idea that I'd be better for good. Now, must of us here understand that endometriosis can return often as soon as 18 months later.

My point is: if endo is an hormonal imbalance, why do doctors think they can "cure" it by burning it off? It seems to me like it's a temporary measure and they don't really know how to or are interested in treating the source of the problem.

Hope someone can answer this ❤️ Xx

Thank you, this is so helpful! Forgive the obvious question but, even if my endo has been successfully "burned away" does the fact that's it's an autoimmune disease mean that I'll have it for the rest of my life every regardless of treatment of the lesions?

I was told today there is no cure only management and that it will return after removal
