Does anyone else have this on and off pain on their period and it feels like labour contractions, the pain comes and goes in your pelvic area and every time it comes back it comes back more stronger. It stays around for 3 hours and its so painful. Can anyone help with what I can do and why this pain is happening?

On and off pain
Hi, Yes i get this a lot when my endo hits. I have strong pain relief for it. 3 months until my op (getting the endo on my ovaries fried off) and the op "should" alleviate this. Have you brought it up with your Gynecologist? hugs x
thanks for your reply and yes i have told him everything but i dont see him until april 19 and i am still in so much pain i dont know how i will cope for another month. I had a ultrasound few weeks back and it showed that my ovaries were quite swollen and a bit large (i think with eggs) thats what the lady said.
can i ask what pain relief you have and does it help? because at the moment i have nothing but paracetamol.
Awh chick I feel ur pain. That's horrendous.
I ended up going private and luckily my work is covering it as I couldn't stand the wait (up to a year for me!!).
I got a phone app with my GP and explained that i only had 3 more periods to get through until my op, so she prescribed me Diclofenac at 50mg three times a day which is an anti inflammatory. However, I got my boobs done about 7 months ago and had an entire packet of pain killers left over (dihydrocodeine) which I use before bed and they are fab. being used to the the pain of endo meant the boob job was pain free in comparison!!!! lol
I know it's not the best move but I figure I have 3 more to get through and they really work. I would ask your GP for a prescription of some sort for pain management. Explain it's just to tide you over until ur appointment and they should give you something strong.
Your endo sounds very similar to mine! My endo is all on my ovaries.
let me know what you decide to do!! xxxxx
thanks for your help
I will try and speak to my gp and i am actually scared with having endo on my ovaries because later in life i do want to have children and all i have been hearing are these stories which say you probably have to have your ovaries all that removed.
Its nice to talk to someone who has the same experience
Ofc. Defo be confident and get what you need!
Awh don't stress about that....... my ovaries are COVERED, but my gyno said my ovaries are in fact functioning perfectly, so just because you have the endo doesn't mean they aren't functioning efficiently.
They remove them only if they don't stop bleeding in the op which is a small risk. I asked my consultant to leave the other one in if one has to be removed.
Also, consider hvaing some eggs frozen if your really worried <3
my and my partner are going to start trying in June time for a baby as it was recommended to wait until after my op and the gyno said that was a great idea.
K xxxx
I get this it is awful :(.
I have a tens machine which I find quite helpful. I have a heat blanket and get warm baths.
I also use painkillers, my doctor prescribed a high dosage of codeine (but I only use if necessary because I hate the side effects).
People say that certain foods should be avoided as it can trigger symptoms. I have no will power though lol
If I'm honest the only thing that stopped my symptoms for a while was my surgery.
Hope you get some relief soon x
Thanks for your reply and the advice
and i have also been using codeine but dont take it anymore because it does not help a lot and i also hate the side effects. At the moment i do try and rest a lot and keep warm and drink a lot of water it does help but most of the time it doesn't.
I am hoping to get treatment very soon as well hopefully
