So I've just had my ultrasound today.
As predicted it showed nothing.
What a waste of time! But now I'm being taken seriously. I've booked an appointment with my gp for a referral.
How long will a lap referral take?

Make sure you get to see one of the specialists on the BSGE list. I'm being referred for a pelvic MRI which will show how bad the problem is and I will then get surgery to remove it. My understanding is that a lap won't show the endo if it is in certain areas.
I recently had an Ultrasound as a part of the norm investigation process..
Felt a glimmer of hope when I received a letter to say that the scan was reported as normal..
But I know.. endometriosis doesn't show on an Ultrasound so I am eagerly waiting for my Lap in January!!
In the meantime, dosed up on all sorts of painkillers and heat patches are my number one handbag essential! 😂😂
Have you had a pelvic exam performed by a gynaecologist? I had a physical exam and was told my uterus was retroverted, which is a big sign of Endometriosis!!
Hope you get your answers and get to the bottom of your symptoms!!

Hey,
I had a scan in March which showed nothing. I went back to the GP hoping for a referral and was put on the pill! Went a few months later still in agony (end of June-ish_ and was referred to gyni. Had my gyni appointment on 1st October and have been put on cerazette for 6 months 'to prove it is a gyni problem and not my bowels'. Looking back at my appointments I wish I was more ruthless and didn't take as much crap, it's taken me 18months to get to the stage I am now, hoping when I go back in March I will finally get my lap done
After being put on the waiting list last week, I have my lap on the 6th January.
Hope that gives some idea, hope you get it sorted x
It taken me 2 months to see a gynacologist in september last year and i had my operation in November. To get an appointment with the gynacologist it taken 2 months.
When they discovered a large cyst on my ovary , they wanted to investigate more because of my mums medical history, so i guess it went a bit faster.
