Hi Ladies

Has anyone had any problems with their feet swelling. Mine have flared up again and are quite painful

Hi, I can't say I've had or have heard of swollen feet due to endo.

I understand hypothyroidism can cause oedema (swelling of the feet) and this condition has a high comorbidity with endo.

The only other time I have come across oedema with endo is if endo is on your ureters and it starts to impact on your kidney functioning. It seems this is quite rare with apparently only 3% of endo sufferers having endo effecting the ureters according to one study I read, though I'm not wholey convinced this statistic is accurate - it probably just goes undiagnosed! I had it on my ureters but it didn't cause any known impact on my kidney functioning nor did it cause oedema.

Perhaps check with your GP.

Hi Jo

Thanks for your response, I had my GP check them out and she just said to wear flight socks, I was just wondering if anyone else suffered. Ah well that's another ailment added to the list

Uum... Helpful GP! Did he/she happen to say what they thought was causing the swelling? 😳

No she just said it could be weather changes and water retention but wouldn't prescribe water tablets

Mmm ok that could be the case and I know that they are reluctant to prescribe water tablets particular long term as they can cause kidney failure. Does the swelling correspond with your periods? Perhaps keep a diary including what the weathers doing and if it persists see another doc for a 2nd opinion if there's another within your practice? 😏 best of luck

Hi there, I have one swollen leg (from top to bottom) - called lymphoedema - happened after a big surgery for severe endo nearly 10 years ago. Not entirely sure how it happened. I have learnt to live with it and wear heavy duty compression stockings on one leg. I have also had endo on the ureter on the same side as the swelling and still suffer pain with it. Hi, I have painful swellen feets and I think it's due to my endromerosis. I find it hard to walk During my period. I always forget to tell my Dr about my feets. I'm getting Hijama done on my back to see if it helps ease my pain.
