Mri scan today.

Hello, had my mri scan today,just curious to know how long your scan took? My scan took an hour and half. Is this normal?? How long before you got your results thro? Thanks x

Hi I had my MRI scan on the 16 th February. thay said it would take 20mins. But it falt longer.

It was just shy of an hour. They also injected me with dye/water. I received the report the next day, however we went private. On NHS should be around 2 weeks.

Thank you smileycat and gay333 for your replies. My scan was nhs and I also had an injection of buscopan not sure about dye.My back was very painful after lying still for so long found it really painful to sit up and get dressed. Hoping I won't be waiting too long for results. Xx

Mine took about an hour but time got a bit distorted as I wasn't best happy being stuck in the tube so had to take myself off somewhere in my mind. It was a while ago but I would say 2-3 weeks til I got the results back.

Hi, my results were within a week. My consultant and my GP received them, my GP printed the report out for me to read (this was after my consultant gave me very vague info and then asked me what I wanted to do next?!!).

It took an hour I would say. I had buscapan and contrast dye. I would imagine you had contrast dye as well as it is needed to really show things up. That part of the scan revealed where all the endo was, the first two parts came back 'normal'. My back really hurt afterwards too! X

Thank you Marie, hope to get results soon, I just really want to get my surgery done and get back to some sort of normality again, just feel in limbo. And the constant pain is really starting to get me down. Hugs x
