Hi. Im 43, had 2 caesareans and a kidney operation. I have a very large scar on my bikini area, it 'feels like' a strange tubular lump along it? Every month, my abdomen swells as if im pregnant, every period i have means large clotting sessions, i also have utis. Ive looked online lately and found i MAY be suffering from endometriosis. Im nervous about going to see a gp, as i don't want to go through yet another operation.

Not sure what to do?
Dear Milly,
I have just come across your message and noticed that you have not had any reply to your post. I wonder if you might be interested in some information that Endometriosis UK can offer you.
Ahead of a consultation with your GP and/or gynaecologist, you may find it helpful to complete the following forms and bring them along with you. They are quite comprehensive forms that may help explain your symptoms when trying to move things forward with your specialist:-

Here is some general information on endometriosis for you. By the way, endometriosis is not always treated with surgical procedures; there are other options depending on the circumstances:-

Finally, Endometriosis UK offer support options that may suit if there should be such a diagnosis. They are run by trained volunteers that have been touched by endometriosis themselves. They include face-to-face support groups usually run once a month and are countrywide:-

Online support groups are available for those people who are unable to find a support group in their area or who prefer not to attend a face-to-face meeting. They do not use webcams to maintain anonymity. Again, they are usually run monthly:-

Furthermore, there is a freephone helpline where you can speak in complete confidence:-

I hope this helps and I wish you well.

Hi I too have the same lump and It hurts so bad when I'm on my period it is getting bigger and feels like a hot poker stabbing me, after going to a few gp and being told it was just a lump of fat ( just nothing) I came away and researched it myself and the symtoms sounded like endo that was growing on my scar from c section. I went for my scan and he said that yes I had a mass with a blood supply but couldn't tell me what it was until it was removed he also found endo in several places in my womb and fibroid. On the first of June I am going in to have it removed and I'm worried too well scared is the word but I can not carry on with the pain every month which is lasting longer and longer and now I feel better knowing because I felt I was crazy before docters made me believe what I was feeling was normal I should just suck it up. If you want I will message you and tell you how my operation went so you know what it is your going into xx
