Mri results

Hi, I'm having an mri scan next week and wondered if I will get told the results straight away or will I have to wait and if so how long? Thank you x

Hi, no you won't be told anything. In my case, the consultant radiographer wrote up the findings and my gynae consultant went through them at my next appt? Who referred you? My GP referred me, he had the results within a week so I got a print out of the report from him too. x

Hi, thank you both for replying. My endo specialist surgeon referred me for urgent mri. So I guess I will receive a letter? Thanks x

Hi, I've had 2 MRI scans and I wasn't told the results straight away. The first one I was told the results by my GP maybe a couple of weeks later only because I asked. The second I received approx 3/4 weeks later in writing from my consultant. I would ask them at the appt how long it takes for it to be reported back to the referrer. Good luck.
