I see my gyno tomorrow, 1 i need to convince him I have had a new pain for 3 months now and 2. I need to convince him not to put me on any contraceptives as they do not agree with my body at all. I become moody and very emotional. Can i request to have a op to remove the endo?
any advice on either of these?
thanks

Hi there, good luck for your appointment today. It's your body and therefore you are the one to decide if a treatment is right for you - not everyone finds the contraceptive pill acceptable. I did once ask my surgeon to operate - he wasn't that keen as I'd had a lot of ops but he found endo on my ureter (tube from kidney to bladder) so I was relieved I had asked for surgery as it turned out to be quite complex. It's always a question of weighing up the risks and benefits. It's so important to talk to your consultant about what you think and feel. Good luck and hope it all goes well, take care.
Thank you, I just feel like they are the experts I should listen but iv had 3 months of trying different things to try ease this new pain and a year of trying different pills and im just not happy I dont want guess work now I want firm answers and firm treatments
Excision surgery is the only real treatment for endo. You need your endo fully removed to get better.
the best experts in the UK do what's called total peritoneal excision to make sure all your endo is gone. You may have to travel for the best care and I've found from feedback from other endo ladies the best surgeons in the UK are all based up north.
