Hi all. I have only just been diagnosed and am currently looking for information and advice, as although I have heard of the condition I don't really know much about it. Thanks in advance x
Just diagnosed: Hi all. I have only just... - Endometriosis UK
Just diagnosed
Hi. Sorry to hear you've been diagnosed I remember hearing that and it was hard but in away I felt good knowing now I knew what it was I could begin treating it. I started prostap injections? Have you looked into anything? X
I haven't to be honest. I had an investigative laporoscopy done on Saturday and they have said there is mild endometriosis. I also have a missing clip as I was sterilised last year. I am being made a gynae appointment for Feb but other than that no info x
It's crazy how long you have to wait. I've found calling the PA to your consultant can get you a quicker app it did for me as I was in so much pain it was ruining my life. I would say look on the nhs website about endometriosis and read as much as you can. Having this condition can make you feel so out of control so the more info you know the more in control you'll feel x
Endopedia had lots of information was there anything specific you where wanting to know? X
I don't really know much about endometriosis if I am honest. It's something I have heard off but don't really know any details. If I am honest am still trying to get my head around it all. I have four wonderful children and was sterilised last year. Was initially feeling great with everything but started with severe constant pain in my lower abdomen and this is the diagnosis after a laporoscopy on Saturday x
Hi there, from what I know Endo is different for all of us. Different treatment works for different people. It helps to have a hand to hold and an understanding family, but the most important thing for me has been to focus on how I can help myself along with the treatment recommended by the doctors. I have tried diet and natural remedies instead of pharmaceuticals and for me it hasn't worked yet, but I know for some it is great and empowering. For me the best thing has been realising that I was owning my Endo. I would frequently pull out of events in case I had a flare, I left friendships because I was tired of being the unreliable one and frequently used to say 'My Endo is playing up I can't'. Thankfully my real friends stuck with me and convinced me that I was still worth being around and to find a way to help myself emotionally. There is a real mind body link to these things and although Endo is very real and vey painful we don't have to let it become us. There are so many tools we can use and help ourselves. In the Chakra systems the Pelvic area is the creative area and when we are done making babies it is important that we stay creative be it with art, career etc. I imagine with 4 children you are very busy, but try and keep some time for you. A bit of Yoga, art, walking in the countryside and taking in the fresh air and scenery. Sara Gottfried MD calls this her Tiara time. youtu.be/-ZnS5_WWt-A
I hope this helps and they can get you comfortable quickly.
Big hugs
