I will most possibly be needing my 3rd lapa for endo. My OBGYN said that in Utah, typically they only perform 3 on women who are so young.

I'm only 23. I have had 2 miscarrages and have 1- 3 year old who was born 4 months early.but she said after 3 laps, 98% of women my age only have a very short window (like 9 months) to get pregnant before having to perform a hysterectomy. I'm terrified. I want one more baby with my husband (my 3 year old isn't his & he has no kids of his own blood) but we can't decide if we are ready and this timeline has us freaking out. Anyone have any insights?

Please don't let them do a hysterectomy, you are far to young. Endo will still grow back, I know because it happened to me. Try to manage you're own pain if possible. I swim twice a week, sometimes I can't, but when do I always feel better for a short while. It is very hard to start exercising & I know it's not for everyone. You should never feel forced into having a op. All the best.

I have no children but I'm 20 and was diagnosed at 16. I've had 5 ops and don't imagine I'm anywhere near finished having surgery yet. I'm planning to get pregnant soon as well, and the best advice I've received from the doctor is that worrying about getting pregnant will only make it harder. We have to look at all the people who have managed it with this illness and take strength from knowing it can be done :) best of luck!

Hello :)

I'm 24 and am having my third lap tomorrow (stage 3/4 endo, adenomyosis and interstitial cystitis). I have told my consultant that my fiance and I don't want kids so admittedly we are in a different boat however he has only suggested an eventual (couple of years away at earliest) hysterectomy for my adenomyosis because as someone has quite rightly pointed out, unless they cut out every single speck of endo, you will still have endo and it will still cause havoc and just as much pain as before.

I would get a second opinion as this sounds like rubbish to me (sorry don't mean to sound rude). I agree with the above comment too that says don't let the Drs push you into having another baby on their timeline. It needs to be the right time for you and not them.

Best of luck! Xxx
