Hello, it's my first post. Had my lap on Thursday and they found endometriosis behind my womb and on my right ovary. It's such a relief to know I had something and the pain wasn't in my mind. Don't really know much about it though seeing consultant in 6 weeks.

Just been diagnosed
Hello and welcome to the forum !
I am sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with endometriosis. How are you feeling after the laparoscopy?
I've had Endo since 1991 and I've had lots of treatments and surgery! I'm very lucky as I have three children.
I can recommend this book
amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/047005...
And these websites
patient.co.uk/health/endome...
This forum is great for information and the ladies on here have so much experience and knowledge on endometriosis.
Best wishes,
Barbara x
Hi Choppyhops
Sorry to hear you have been diagnosed with this horrible disease, but glad that you finally have some answers. Yeh some drs like to make us feel like it is in our minds, when we know our bodies. I had my lap on Tuesday and they found severe endo.
I hope your recovery is going well for you. I am pleased you got told a little about what was found before you came home so you haven't had to wait to find out. I hope your meeting with consultant in 6 weeks gives you even more info and a way forward for you.
Thank you for the replies, I'm recovering ok just feel very tired and my shoulder still aches. Sorry yours was severe, Squidgy. Hope you're recovering well.
Thank you for the links cuddlybarb, I will look at those. Luckily I already have 2 daughters and have no plans for anymore. As mine was mild I'm wondering if it can get worse? Xx
Thanks Choppyhops. My recovery is going well. Slow but better than thought would be. Wooziness/dizzy isn't going but hopefully will eventually. I hear it can be after effect of the anesthetic which can last a few weeks! Like you tiredness too and keep dozing lots. Woke at 2am this morn with horrible heart pains but think it was severe heartburn and throat felt horrible too. Thankfully gone in half hour. Sorry to hear you got the sore shoulder..I was lucky not to get that. I hope your recovery continues well and you able to go back to as much normal as possible with this evil disease.
Don't hold me to this, but as I understand it, Endo can get worse as time goes on as it has no way to escape the body.
Big hugs to help you through your recovery x
Like the other ladies, i'm glad you finally have some answers.
I had my lap just over a week ago and have been diagnosed as 'severe stage 3 endo'.
Luckily, i only have to wait until the 18th june to see the consultant. It was only because i rang up and there was a cancellation. 6 weeks is a long time i think?!
My advice is to write any questions you have down. Someone told me to do this and i'm so glad i have been. Every day a new question pops into my mind and i'd hate to walk out and think "crap! I didnt ask ....."!
I'm the same as you and would like to know if it can get worse? My ovaries, tubes and uterus are all endo free, but my surgeon said everywhere else is 'pretty much obliterated with it'. I'm 23 and have no children, but would definitely like them in the near future. But can the endo spread to my ovaries? I dont really get it?! Like i said.. I think 6 weeks is too long to wait to find out all these things when seeing the consultant.
I'm going to have a look at those websites also - thanks cudlybarb. I thought i'd google it all but just ended up reading some horrible stories. Not clever!
I hope you're feeling ok after the surgery. Xx
