I'm thinking of having the merina coil fi... - Endometriosis UK
I'm thinking of having the merina coil fitted during my op has anyone else had this dose it help? :0)
Hi! I had the mirena coil fitted during my laparoscopy op last October. I was willing to try anything at that stage! I noticed a massive difference for the good but I know it does not always agree with everyone and it also can take several months to settle down :0)
The Mirena keeps my endo in check! I think it's definitely worth a try. You can always get it removed if it doesn't agree with you (some people hate it, others love it).
I'm really pleased with my Mirena, I didn't suffer daily pain but my periods were a knightmare. so far, all things crossed I haven't had a period so no pain. If this is it my experience has been brilliant. Its been eight weeks since i've had it fitted, I didn't even really bleed when it was inserted, had about 3 weeks of a very small amount of bloody discharge (more of a dirty wipe) which began 4 weeks after fitting and that's it.
Hiya,I had d mirena coil fitted a while back n unfortunately it didnt work 4 me...my periods became extremely heavy n didnt stop bleeding for ova 6months n dey decided 2 remove it as was completely drained...my periods returned 2 normal almost immediately....each one of us r completely different n if I were u id giv it a shot...defo worth trying....best of luck x
Hi, I had the Mirena coil fitted during my lap as it's suppose to help with keeping the endo at bay, and also it helps with heavy bleeding during my period.
So far I haven't experienced any problems. It does make you a little bit bloated, the Dr told me it's the progesterone that it releases, but that's a small price to pay, compared to the advantages.
I have had a period since, I couldn't believe how light it was, and eventually, probably in 5 months, my periods could stop altogether, which is fine by me as I don't want anymore children. Also it's suppose to be a very effective contraceptive, lasting up to 5 years.
Try it, it can always be removed if you don't like it.
