Hi anyone with prostap injections had a breasts screening recall ? Is it something to do with the injections ?

gail50 - there are not a huge number of forum members in the over 50s club (those who will be called and recalled for breast screening,) so you might have to wait a bit for direct experience of this.

However I just want to say that recalls on the screeening programs can be due to faulty scans, incorrectly filed previous scans (human error), or a host of reasons.

It could also be that although clear first time round a subsequent check of the 1st scan picked up something they want to look at again.

Bit like the wretched smears (only far less painful for most women), you can find yourself switched from the standard recall list and on the more frequent recall list from your medical history so far.

You could ask your GP surgery to see if there is anything in your patient records recently that could explain the recall. It might not be personal - may just be that a sample batch in your area are being tested twice and you pulled the short straw.

IF all was well in your medical notes and your GP hs not been notified of any problem whereby lots of patients hve suddenly been recalled then it's up to you if you want to attend so soon, or wait for the next scheduled one?

Or go along as per appointment and ask questions when you get there?

Thank you impatient, will go on Thursday for the further tests has they have asked. Hopefully will be nothing.

Oops - should add it won't have anything to do with the Prostap. The only scans you get with that are for long term use, when a Dexa bone density scan is periodically checked after 6months on Prostap. The drug is not reported for having any impact on breast tissue.

Just bone density and heart health long term.
