Was wondering what symptoms you suffer? My mum suffered from both conditiions, just recently my belly is huge like a pregnant woman, my lower back hurts, and the tops of my legs? Can this happen with jyst endo or adenomyosis aswell??

Hi, I'm still confused about exactly what the difference is between adenomyosis and adhesions? I have been thinking that they r the same thing but lately I'm not too sure? Anyone help with more info on that one too? Cheers xx

Adenomyosis is where endo builds up in the smooth muscle of the uterus wall. Endo is where endometrial tissue spurs of and attaches itself to anything in the abdominal cavity! That's what I understand of it?!!!

Thank u borderali :-) That's so much clearer for me now :-D Im not sure if I had this but was told I had severe stage 4 endo and that it was everywhere, so its prob likely :-/ All the symptoms u mentioned I def had/have (they r returning) and before my op I looked a good 6 months pregnant. I was so big I started to dress differently as i was getting fed up with people commenting about whether I was pregnant... My daughter is 17, so very unlikely! Lol! Anyhow, hopefully someone else will chip in and shed some light on ur question. Good luck xx

Hi, I have both but I use herbal medicines to help with my symptoms. I find peppermint tea and capsules help with the bloating and bowel symptoms x

Hi, i've had patches of endo removed in the past but don't have any active endo at the moment. Had a lap 2 weeks ago and was told I have adenomyosis. I have daily pain in my stomach - sharp, stabbing pains as well as a very tender and bruised like pain in my abdomen. My legs/thighs feel like i've pulled all my muscles and are very heavy and painful. I also get pain in my sacrum and lower back and sciatic pain down my left leg. Also hip pain in my right. I have pain during intercourse and slight bleeding afterwards. My stomach is very bloated, in fact I look just like I did at 7 months pregnant some evenings. So I think that this is all to do with adenomyosis. I am due to start 3 months on zoldex and then if this takes away the pain I will have a hysterectomy (leaving the ovaries) in February. I so hope it works. I feel like an old woman! Hope this helps and that you aren't suffering too much. X

Thanks for that? I kept thinking maybe its jyst a bad back but its too coincidental, I have had six months zolodex and this started after the 2nd injection I don't Thu k the zolodex done it just a natural progression of the conditions, I have to say all the zolodex done for me was stop the periods, it has been nice not to worry bout having to always take tampons etc out with you all the time! I felt great for the first month then the back problems started. In due a scan in ten days so will find out bout the adeno then! Next step for me is to have the lot out, I don't wanna keep my ovary as its that that feeds the endo!! God damn get rid of the usless piece of anatomy!!! Lol. Thanks everso, goid luck with the zolodex, take some pain killers before you go, its not the most comfortable!x

I have recently been diagnosed with adenymosis and endo. I was told they are different to each other. The adenymosis makes me bleed into the muscle of my womb not outwards !?! Until I had an ablation I had very heavy periods, flooding and clots. They said I had an enlarged womb then. I suffer with bloating, pain in abdomen, lower back aches. Pain in hips. Stabbing pains. Feeling like I need to empty bowels. Mid cycle pain onesidded stabbing pains. Think that covers most of it. I suffered for years before my ablation and increasingly worse for the last year. Finally got a diagnosis couple of weeks ago.

I had a internal scan a month ago that's when I was diagnosed I received results two weeks ago. I cried - actually with relief - as been trying to get diagnosis for years. I am 44. My sister had severe endo and fertility problems. I was very lucky to have been able to have my family and problems progressing since then. But now I have my diagnosis I worry about not only getting rid of my pain but wanting to help my daughter's as three out of four of them suffer with horrendous pain and periods. Perhaps a Dr may listen to them now. Good luck with your scan tomorrow hope it goes we

well it went well no abnormities that she could see!!! So good but doesn't give me answers to the pain but I spose I just need to except that it was only the zolodex! As now its worn off my back and leg pain has reduced slightly! So we shall wait what my surgton says. Nice to chat. X
