Is it normal to bleed with Zoladex and HRT
Yes it was for me. I have just stopped this treatment after 6 months (I couldn't get on with it at all - headaches, high blood pressure and feeling really sick) and over that 6 months I had 3 periods; not too heavy etc...but still had them. Also still had the aching and dragging feeling throughout the rest of the month. Not sure what the Zoladex / HRT did on a positive side but I have just started on the Depro-Provera 3 monthly injections 2 weeks ago and no need for HRT and I have missed a period and I haven't had the sore tummy for the last fortnight! Watch this space! ; ) Best of luck! X
Yes you bleed while on zoladex, at least light bleeding.
I bled alot at the flare stage of zoldex then did not till it was all over.
But I fif not have HRT adding back the very hormones that zoladex wants to stop you producing. HRT does cause periods. Stop the HRT and they may stop too, but the side effects of the zoladex could be a lot more intense. It is a tricky dilema.
I had prostap with hrt and then zoladex both with and with hrt and with all of the above I had very heavy clotted bleeding for the whole 9 months. Some women it will work for and others unfortunately it won't.
One of the side effects of using HRT is vaginal bleeding. This usually passes by in a few weeks but if it is persistent then talk to your GP. She/he might recommend you to switch to a different route for taking the medication, like using patches instead of tablets. They can also change the dose of your medication.
