I was diagnosed at 19, I would get checked out at your doctors.

Why worry if you don't know for sure? Best to go to the doctors.

Go to your doctors and get checked out, take a list of symptoms. I've just been diagnosed with stage 3 and have had no symptoms at all and now my fertility is at risk. The quicker you go and get a diagnosis the quicker you can make the changes you need. Don't be scared, there are remedies out there and ways to control it. Keep your chin up x

Hi Verity23 - First obtain a diagnosis, the symptoms of endometriosis can be similar to other conditions. If you do have endo, you will be in a better position to control events. I've always had problematic periods and my situation only became worse. Last year I finally obtained a diagnosis, a name for my condition - after I experienced problems with fertility. The sense of relief I felt was immense, with that I've been able to educate myself, improve my symptoms and obtain the treatment I needed. Remember knowledge is power!

I experienced pains since I was 17 but they only came every so often so i thought nothing of it. It was only last year that I decided to see my doctor after they became regular and more painful, putting off seeing a doctor is the worst thing you can do. If I'd gone earlier it could of been treated alot quicker

Hi Verity23,

Many of the common symptoms of endo are similar to the classic symptoms for many conditions, so it's always helpful for doctors if you can tell them as much information as possible about all your symptoms.

You might find it useful to download the pain and symptoms diary that we have on our website.

endometriosis-uk.org/inform...

Fill it in and take it along with you to your doctor's appointment. It will provide a template for you to collect as much relevant information about the symptoms you've been experiencing, and prompt you to remember all the relevant information when talking to your doctor.

All the best,

Endo UK
