Hi hun

Can I recommend you go to your local citizen advice they would be happy to help you fill it in. I work as an housing advice worker and this includes working with benefits, the new pip forms are different to what the DLA were. The part were it is asking you to tell your story most people write quite positively about the condition ie they will state the negative but then play down the impact because we as humans we try to remain positive to an extent if that makes sense, and you actually need to write more honestly about the negative impact of the illness.

I agree with Donna1979, I too work as a housing advisor and also deal with benefits. I go with my clients to attend citizens advice or our local disability centre to complete ESA and PIP forms. They have people who work there who specialise in completing these forms and know what to write. Have a look to see whats available in your area. Good luck X.

I also can confirm that the Citizens Advice helped me last year with ESA forms. I really do not know how I would have coped without them. I have been advised by CA that I should have applied for DLA now PIP, but I found the ESA application and medical and whole process, including being placed on ESA but told I should go to Work Related Training despite reams of evidence, investigations and various surgical procedures and having to appeal, so immensely stressful on top of my illness, I could not cope with yet more forms and medicals. However,

The Citizens Advice were a lifeline with the ESA. As I now approach yet another avalanche of forms, medicals and procedures and my condition has worsened along with additional diagnosis of other, possibly related health conditions,

and I am in the extremely difficult position of being on the verge of giving the go ahead to further invasive surgery, which could help or worsen my condition due to extensive adhesions. I am frankly terrified of the likely prospect of more major surgery, whether it will work and having to deal with the forms, medicals and outcomes of both. However, I reiterate, the Citizens Advice

will thankfully be there to help me through the process again and thank heavens for that!
