I haven't but I have asked to be referred there and my first appointment is 4th July.

Thanks for replying I've heard great things about their Chronic Pain Clinic.

Good luck with your referral on the 4th.

Hello all,

Thanks for your post and comments.

Just a reminder, it's great that you are sharing your experiences, but please don't forget that we ask people not to name the consultants they have experience of.

We understand that whilst it is important to be able to find the best information for your treatment, because the HealthUnlocked forum is a public site connected to Endometriosis UK there could be legal consequences for the charity and the doctor concerned, whether these opinions are good or bad, should names be mentioned on here. .

Many thanks.

Yes I'm being seen there and should be having surgery in August. My experience has been brilliant so far, miles a part from gynaes I've seen in the past. Good luck x

Hiya, I went yesterday for my first appointment there, they were brilliant and seemed to know exactly what they were on about.

I had an internal scan done by a lovely lady Dr who turned the screen around and explained everything to me, pointing out relevant bits, which was fantastic.

The Dr I saw for a consultation was brilliant too, highly recommend trying to get seen there.

I agree with doodah, way better than any gynaes I have seen in the past.

Good luck .xx

Thanks flossyk sounds like its definitely the place to go especially as they seemed to know what they are talking about cannot tell you the amount of times I've seen some Dr who have no idea at all!

Hi, I just wondered if this place was only for private consultation and treatment? If not can I ask my GP to refer me to it? I went private for my lap but in the future I wont be able to afford it again.... but I don't want to just be referred to any old gyno at some random hospital. My experience of certain London hospitals has not been pleasant. Can I chose where I go? If UCLH is recommened by so many people then it'd be good to go there.... Just want to see someone sympathetic and caring.

Thanks

Hi Lucy. I was referred there through my GP on the NHS and I don't live in London, so you definitely should be able to x

Me too, GP referral, (even though I told them to refer me there ;))

Hi Lucy

As far as I'm aware you should be able to be referred there through the Choose and Book system check with your GP.

Good luck. X

Thank you! Good luck to you too x

There are several Endometriosis Centre's of Excellence and you can see if there is one near you at the below link. If you have severe Endometriosis and specifically recto vaginal then one of these centre's is the best place for your GP to refer you to. It was the best thing I ever did and because they are specialist's they will find and remove all Endometriosis, as long as it is safe to do so. I am now waiting for my 5th surgery and will have a team of specialists performing my surgery so have better prospects than I have ever had before :-)

Hi thank you so much for this it really is very informative I wish GPs could recommend this at the start of investigations would save an awful amount of wasted time and heartache.

Kind regards

Hi can you advise as I'm new to this site if my GP would refer me to one of these centres through nhs. I have one not far from me and feel after 15 years I need to be seen by specialist in endo.
