Isolated in kent

I'm a student nurse in my second ye at Kent and feel really isolated in my tutor group. I feel that I can't talk to anyone and don't fit in due time out and problems with endo. I don't know what to do and could do with at least one friend in my group who I can just chat to. Any suggestions?

Have a word with the K&C or Wm Harvey Hosp gynae wards. They will get ladies with endo visiting for surgery quiet often, and I'm sure if you ask around they'll get you in contact with other endo ladies in the local area.

You might want to think about putting up a notice on the notice board of the gynae wards patient sitting area to ask fellow younger endo ladies to get in contact if they want to chat.

Another possibility is if you are at Uni, have word with the student welfare people you certainly won't be the only student with endo.. not with 10-20% of all women having endo, that goes for Uni too 10-20% of all the female students and faculty will have endo too.

Just because women don't go round with it emblazoned on their forehead doesn't mean they don't have it, it's a matter of being pro-active and finding each other.

Posting on here is a great start.

I used to live near canterbury myself, and my big op was in Kent, but i have since moved a long way from there otherwise I'd happily help set up a local endo group in Kent.

It does need one and there wasn't one when I was recovering from surge, but I was not in any fit state to set one up post operation and on zoladex too.

There's also a virtual support group as part of endo-uk that runs this forum.

the info about it is on endometriosis-uk.org/suppor...

and of course you can come on here 24/7 for a rant at anytime. Most of us do find this forum the best way to ask questions and share problems we encounter in day to day living with endo. Good Luck

Also there are some nice groups of FB . I find the Unofficial Endometriosis Support & Friendship to be the most friendly.

It is so hard to find people that understand xx
