I'm so angry and not sure what to do.I had 4 wonderful pain free years from endo after my hystrectomy.but 12 months ago I started getting pain each month and after doc ruled out everything else I was given a scan.the scan showed an ovarian cyst and I was pleased they'd found something that explained the pain.
But after the consultant looked at the scan he said that wouldn't cause pain and they would be taking no action.
The pain kept getting worse and I couldn't cope so they put me on prostap and said it must be endo .I had 6 months of hell cos the injections made me feel awful so on Christmas eve I broke down at the consultants and said I couldn't take any more.she decided to scan me again and sent me home to wait for the scan appointment.I rang every week or so for 3!!!!months to see where the scan was but was fobbed off and told it would come.
In the end I was in so much pain my parents used there savings to send he private to see a brilliant endo surgeon I had seen years ago.
To my utter amazement he could find no endo what so ever just this huge ovarian cyst that had been rupturing all this time.I know I'm so lucky to be free from endo but it has cost thousands and so much pain for something that could and should of been dealt with a year ago.
I'd also like to add the scan appointment has still not arrived so clearly I had just been lost in the system somewhere .I'm wondering if I should take legal advice but it would probably be a waste of time!!! Rant over.

I'd atleast put in a complaint hunny. That's not nice at all! I know how you feel about being fobbed off, ive struggled with my fertility and weight for 6 years due to pcos and now possibly endo and i just keep getting told to lose weight and it will all go?! the NHS have made me feel like such a failure x
put in a complaint at the very least, there are few solicitors that are willing to take on a claim against the nhs, believe me i tried, i was rushed into hospital 8 years ago with stomach pains sickness etc, had been this way for 4 weeks, i had to have emergency surgery to have an ileostomy formed as ther was an internal blockage in my intestines, anyway the hospital somehow lost the notes from all the previous times i had actually been to a&e etc complaining about the pain, we tried to sue but to no avail. which ever route you go down i wsh you all the best and glad to hear that you have finally been sorted, xx
I had severe pain and went to my NHS hospital. Various problems including big suspicious solid mass on my ovary were found but no active treatment due to Covid 19.
Symptoms continued and worsened.
To cut a long story short I went back to the doctor who wasn't really interested and suggested I was being hysterical.
Took myself abroad and got treatment. They found a load of endometriosis wrapped around my bowel and the mass on my ovary was full of pre cancerous cells and had advanced in size between my first consultation in Britain and the 6 weeks later when it was measured abroad.
So in short I've kept all my receipts and I'm going to submit them to my NHS board for reimbursement of expenses.
If you submit through your local Complaints department there is a duty to respond within usually 7 to 14 days x
