had missed period, some say it is a missed ovulation. Has anyone else experienced this please?

My period is late, I have taken a pregnancy test and it says negative but my period still hasn't arrived! Yet I'm having terrible pain as if it's trying to come. Iv'e heard it can be a missed ovulation. Has anyone else had this? help please, worried.....

OK sometimes you get false negatives on pregnancy tests and sometimes periods are simply late in coming. I imagine stress will have an effect on your period as well.

When did you expect to come on and are your periods regular?

Also are you worried that you are pregnant, that you are not pregnant or are you worried that something else is going on?

Hi Crystal,

thanks for your reply. I have had this happen before and the doctor said it was a missed ovulation. I have severe endo and very low fertility levels so pregnancy seems nigh impossible! Scared i suppose. I'm in my forties and have pain every day so the thought of a child with this terrifies me. Don't seem to have had the 'symptoms' that you have with pregnancy. in fact my body is behaving as if it is trying very hard to have a period! A bit concerned because when this happened years ago, i had a huge cyst and one which had burst! Going to try and get in at the docs and have another test so at least i will know where i stand then.

I used to have missed periods before I had my first child. Have recently missed another one to discover I'm pregnant despite having the mirena coil and waiting for a hysterectomy. I have also had burst cysts. x
