Hello... I'm new to this forum and joined to ask about an allergy I have.
Whenever I eat walnuts (I've narrowed it down to these with a bit of detective work ) my throat tightens up and I get red rashes and feel rubbish for the rest of the day, it's not so bad if I quickly take an antihistamine.
My question is, should I go for an allergy test, is there any benefits of going for one now i'm pretty sure of what it is anyway ?
Thanks
Andy.

Please keep a food diary and make notes, slowly you can identify what is giving bad allergy, may one item or combination of items. For me Jaffa cakes, and many other things. In the summer months eating fresh veg and fruits give me problems, if they cooked then I am fine, I have been working on this for 35 years.
You need to watch out for side effects on antihistamine!
You can ask your GP for a referral, a blood test in the clinic can verify few problems.
I would defiantly advise you to go for a blood test as my son is allergic to all nuts which can lead to anaphylactic shock which can be fatal and have to carry an epipen around at all times as his lips, throat and tongue swell....I would avoid anything to do with nuts and get a blood test done
