Antidepressants and antiepileptics for nerve pain? But big side effects?

Anyone taken any of these? Apparently they take two to three weeks to work and can have really bad side effects including a lot of drowsyness. I work full time including driving. But apparently they sometimes work really well. Should I try them? What's your experience? Anyone tried them and they've worked?

I take both (Fluoxetine and Pregablin) and while I find them a big help (with depression, anxiety and nerve pain) they did initially make me VERY drowsy (especially the Pregabalin). Be very careful driving (I'm surprised your GP didn't mention this). I actually took 2 weeks off work to get over the initial side effects but they usually do get better over time.
