Rash on arm.

Hi all,My egfr is at 12 and I'm constantly exhausted. I have noticed a rash on my arm almost like a diffuse bruise. I scratch it in my sleep and it bleeds.

Does anyone else have this? What is it?

Any comments greatly appreciated

Thanks,

Andy.

We are not doctors and cannot diagnose.... especially something we cannot see. I would highly recommend talking to your doctor and preparing for dialysis. The rash MAY have to do with toxins building up in the skin. That will itch. Try washing the area and putting on some anti-itch lotion such as Jergens. Something mild. See the doctor.

Thanks Bassetmomer, My wife came to the same conclusion.

I did bring it to the doctor's attention when it first appeared a few years ago but he seemed baffled. I do scratch it in my sleep and it bleeds.

I had a fistula made last June and should be starting dialysis soon. Not looking forward to it :-(.

Good that you are prepared for dialysis... There is a lot to it. If the rash is only in one spot and you have had it for years, then see a dermatologist. The dermatologist is a great doctor to have on your kidney team, especially if you are planning on transplant.

Not what you're looking for?
