It could be that his high BP is causing his headaches. Keep track of his BP for a couple of days (2-3 times a day) and notify his doctor of the results. High BP is important to control because it can also cause more kidney damage. Good luck to you.

In the US you can pick up an inexpensive BP machine to have at home for around $25.

Thank you so much. Will check on his BP regularly.

Hi there.... My husband has egfr of 23 per cent now having remained stable between 35 to 41....The nephrologist has discovered he has low blood pressure probably caused by the drug Bisuprolol given as an additive to his pacemaker.... This has been stopped and his BP is slowly rising. I think your husbands headaches are probably due to high BP. … Also I have tried to keep him away from meals where there is a lot of salt... It sounds strange but now advised to allow him a small bag of crisps, bacon and an occasional Chinese takeaway which he loves but apparently has a lot of salt.. It seems his kidneys have...gone to sleep...therefore adding some salt and a higher BP should give them some work to do..My own observation is that he is less tired and less breathless as well as not having any lightheadiness, dizziness or being unsteady especially early morning. We will see what the next blood test shows on 17th August and let you know... Until then try not to worry egfr can go up as well as down, so hopefully results will be better. Love Belle x

Recently had a gift voucher for Boots so bought a BP MACHINE...Neighbours and friends are now using it to check themselves...High BP low BP it can affect kidney function so maybe your husband would benefit from a low dose of something to help reduce his pressure and feel better with no headaches... GP and Nephrologist can advise you...… Boots machine around £22.... and accurate so far....Love Belle x
