HI

I see my kidney DR. again this Friday Jan 12 th. I had the lab work last Friday , I read the results on my chart on line today.

I see many flags in the tests . I need to be asking questons what they all mean.

My hemoglobin came up to 11,5 it is flaged ,creatinine external 37 mg . creatinine ratio 28 mg, blood urea external 37 mg ,anion gap external 3.9 ,

bun/creat external 21 external hosphorus 4.6 mg. all flaged.there are more flaged but I didnt think there were that bad,

Is there question's I need to ask on any of these tests ?

Was on medformin for 10 years . Was taken off Medfomin 6 months or so ago, and put on glipizide 2.5 mg in place of it.also put on vit. D 3 , and vit B 12.

To answer your question one would need to know what the units are and what the normal ranges are. Also, I have no idea what all the "externals" are.

Interesting labs! I think I would sit back and ask my doctor to explain why those items are flagged. Some are very low, others high. Is there an explanation? I'd be very curious as to what he/she says. Your doctor may ask you to repeat the tests to check for a trend. I'd definitely keep an eye on it.
