I am 67 years old I have Stage 3 A Kidney disease. My question is I also have Lupus.

I am wondering about getting the Covid vaccine . Is there anyone else on here with both Kidney disease AND Lupus ???

Have you gotten the Covid vaccine ?

How bad of a reaction did you have , did it make your Kidney disease worse ?

Or with the auto immune disease Lupus what kind of a reaction did you get ,did you end up really sick or in the hospital ?

I did get Shinglex shot 2 years ago. It was a 5 1/2 month nightmare starting with being totally blind for 3 1/2 days. Then 5 1/2 months of extreme body pain so that I felt suicidal at times having such a high level of pain 24/7 .

Thank you,for your time and answers , Ashawna

i am stage 3b, the result of a kidney removal due to cancer. I get what is called immunotherapy treatment for the cancer which has spread to my bones from that kidney. . It is a drug (keytruda) which in simplistic terms totally disrupts your immune system and "directs" it to attach the tumors. It also sometimes attacks perfectly normaly parts of your body such as pancreas, abdomen, lungs. In short my immune system is a total mess. That said my oncologist said get the shot for sure, as did my kidney specialist. I got shot number 1 of 2 , 2 weeks ago. No side effects.
