Hello Thirza2. My chronic pain issues originate from osteoarthritis, chronic gout and muscle tears. I used to take over-the-counter anti-inflammatory meds (Advil), and I’m quite sure that it highly contributed to the decline in my kidney function.
Dealing with chronic pain issues is never an easy journey. However, I wouldn’t recommend anti-inflammatory drugs, even though you may be considering these to relieve your pain. I suppose anti-inflammatory drugs would be the best choice to combat an inflammatory disease, but the strain on your kidneys would be very detrimental to your health and well-being.
Believe me, I do understand your frustration, but for some pain relief, try Tylenol instead, providing you have no liver issues or allergies to acetaminophen. Or, better still, speak to your doctor with regard to what would be best for you. She / he is more familiar with your blood levels I’m sure, and will be better able to advise you on this.
I hope this can help you. I will keep you in my prayers, dear. All my best to you! Keep us posted on how you come along. Bye for now! 😊👍🙏
My CRP/inflammation used to be high. I quit eating animal protein (including dairy and eggs) and it dropped to 2.8 within 6 months.
Hi Thirza2, In addition to CKD I have been diagnosed with inflammatory arthritis. Add that to the osteoarthritis and my post Tyson morning bouts are as you described. My rheumatologist makes sure I have steroid on hand. When joints swell I am to take a 5-7 day course, which I dislike by the way. Lately it's been my back which complicates most types of movement or tasks.
I used to have horrible pains every day before I was diagnosed. I assumed I had Fibromyalgia like two other members of my family. In fact I had acid build up from diet and a owly failing kidney. Now I only have pain if I have had over exercise day, which is normal inflammation. Diet change, and sodium bicarb are what fixed my issues. Ask your doctor if taking sodium bicarb could help you. If I do have pain that I can not bear, and Tylenol does not help, I take one baby aspirin with a Tylenol. Peppermint oil helps a lot too, but I am not saying you should do that. It is just something I have tried that works. There are very few tests on the safety of essential oils and kidney disease.
