IGA nethropathy and Covid 19

I have IGA nethropathy and have previously completed a steroid course. With Covid 19 im stilll unsure if this means i should isolate for 12 weeks or not would i be one of the people who get the letter. Just not sure as i am a key worker as i work for BT.

Consult your doctor for advice. If he or she thinks you should they should supply you with a work excuse.

Hi Baldrat,

I agree with Healthbuddy, Melissa.

I would call your doctor for specific instructions as even under the best of times, there are list of precautions from doctors of autoimmune kidney patients who have finished a course of steroids or immunosuppresent drugs.

Speak to him/ her and explore alternatives such as the downloading of a possible Family Medical Leave which your doctor signs and you take to your employer which protects your job for designated weeks.

Best to be safe.

Please let us know the outcome as I guarantee that there are other patients with IGAN in the community who would benefit from the support and information.
