Anyone with Stage 2 CKD and edema ?
Edema is not always a symptom of CKD. Actually it has more to do with the fluid overload in the body not easily being removed because it is not moving..... because there is a blockage, or low or poor circulation or other reason. It can be as simple as too much salt, not enough water, not moving because of sitting too much. There are many other reasons. Check with your doctor who has your whole medical information.
Hi boon1,
I had edema quite noticeably and the cause of it was found to be urine retention, once the urine was drained (due to enlarged prostate) the edema disappeared.
Hope this info helps,
Best wishes
I had Oedema of both ankles. I am stage 3 a. Getting to grips with my salt intake resolved that. Check how much your Stage daily intake of salt should be. I do not have Oedema anymore.
If you have CKD you have to watch your salt intake. Salt can cause you to retain fluid and thus edema in feet and ankles. But, having CKD does not automatically mean you will have edema. Many people pass through the stages of CKD without ever having edema issues.
Heart issues can also cause edema.
Only a doctor can tell you what you are asking. If you have edema have your doctor find the cause.
