It certainly made interesting reading as an article. However I would consider caution when reading this.
Perhaps if you are interested in the herbs it would be a good idea to talk with your Consultant and/or specialist dietician to obtain their views on the use of herbs for your particular diagnosis.

In a previous posting I reminded everyone that "Alternative" medicine depends on where you start. We, in the US are the new guys on the block as our country is only a couple of hundred years old, more or less. European and Eastern medicine goes back several thousand years. Our medicine, mostly pharmaceuticals, is fueled by Hubris and a pseudo government agency whose apparent mandate is to keep us from catching up with the rest of the world. Think about it: a lot of our medicine is alternative to what the rest of the world has known for centuries. Continue with your research and make informed decisions. Me cynical? Yes, I'm 83 and have read a lot in those years. That has lead me to be wary of those who make their livelihood from the misfortune of others. I have been to China for kidney treatments that are effective and our medical community is too full of Hubris to learn and use proven methods. We use alternative methods instead.
PS: Where was the first successful heart transplant done, by who, and how long did it take for the procedure to be used in the US?
I found this to be interesting. I caution anyone who uses supplements that if there truly was a cure for CKD, they would have discovered it sooner. Herbs are a great thing, but they are unregulated and can be dangerous if used improperly. So always check with your doctor. Trouble is, most doctors do not know about herbs.
True story: I had a friend who totally used a Chinese Herbologist for her health. She paid an exorbitant price for an herb mixture she used as a tea that was specially blended for her. She drank it regularly and swore it helped with her pain issues. One day she doubled over and was rushed to the hospital. Her colon had ruptured and she was bleeding out. The diagnosis said it was from something in the tea that caused the issue and I am sorry I do not remember what it was. However, she was on a bag for a very long time.
Be careful with using unregulated products.
I have been drinking nettle tea, taking quercetin and bromelain, vit. C, multi-vitamin, cbd oil and occasionally, astragalus. My last labs showed no CKD.
I will see how my numbers hopefully improve even further when I am tested again this month. I have added REDOX Signaling Molecules, so will see what effect they have.
Another report talked about the thyroid either affecting the kidneys, or being affected by them. I was diagnosed with hypothyroid many, many years ago and have taken Armour thyroid which seemed to keep my thyroid numbers steady. However we recently found that my right thyroid has atrophied and it seems that I have Hashimoto's.
It would seem that my thyroid affected my kidneys since that was diagnosed long before CKD.
