Telmisartan effect

Iam recently diagnosed with cid. My right kidney is small in size about 6cm.my creatinine was 1.2. I started taking Telmisartan for a month. My BP became normal but creatinine was increased to 1.35. I wish to know is telma causing rise in creatinine. My nephrologist told me to take telmisartan even if bp is normal. Telma also was causing side effects like acidity and palpitations. What should I do. My BP is normal without telma since 10days..drs said telma is good for kidneys but my creatinine has increased from 1.2 to 1.35

Hello Dildiya

Thanks for your message. Welcome to this group.

It is good that your blood pressure is normal after taking telmisartan. It might be difficult to know if it is affecting your creatinine levels. You would need to discuss this with your doctor or consultant. Also let them know about your other side effects.

A pharmacist may be able to offer you more advice. Are you taking any other medications?

Many research studies are inconclusive about this.
