how much water to drink
Hello Hennah05 and thank you for your post. Daily water needs will vary from person to person so it would be wise to ask your medical team for guidance regarding your intake of water. I have found some website addresses which I hope will be useful to you. They include a lot of information about diet and fluid.

My doctor advises me 60 to 70 ounces daily (1.7 L to 2.0L). But also to NOT NOT NOT drink this within a short period of time. To balance throughout the waking hours. Some in the morning, then afternoon, then evening (even though this means a trip or two to the bathroom during the sleeping hours). I do it. But I have found my creatinine level over the past 18 months has not changed (other than the normal change up a point or two, down a point or two). HOWEVER, perhaps if I did NOT drink the fluid, by this time it might have declined more significantly. The other advantage I have found is a tremendous change in my weight (loss or over 30 lbs) and reduction in my blood pressure (my medications have been reduced by 75%). So even if it is not helping the kidney (I only have one) it is providing me other health benefits.
