Hi my 86 year old father has end stage renal FAILURE he has AN eGFR of 14 any ideas of ow long he has without dyalisis thank you

Hi. Probably a long time. I’m at 8 and not on it but depends on other things as well. Creatinine, phosphorus, potassium. These are all just markers. Doctor looks at whole picture. Prayers for your Dad. God can do anything!!

Hi, don't have a specific response to your question but thinking ahead perhaps....my dad started dialysis at the age of 92, that was almost a year ago, and it's working for him. Ok it's tiring but he does have a reasonable quality of life outside of dialysis days. Good luck.

My doctor told me that with an eGFR of 10, I would be needing dialysis.
