So can you pass low protein all your life without further kidney damage or protein in urine getting worst?

That is a good question. I don't believe that I have read anything that suggests that just having a small protein leak is in itself is damaging to the kidneys. Whether or not you will get worse depends on the nature of the underlying kidney problem. For example I have IGAN which is an autoimmune problem that gradually ruins the kidney by blocking the filters and causing inflammation. One of the symptoms is protein in the urine and in the case of IGAN that is indicative of a more aggressive strain of it.

The home dipstick test I just took said something along the lines that 30 is it ml? Of protein is not worrisome if there’s no other signs of kidney damage. Over 30 it said you should consult a doctor

Realistically if you limit your protein intake shouldn’t that have a positive effect on a protein leak?

Less meats etc more natural foods

I had protein in my urine at 20ml. The doctor said it isn't abnormal until it is over 30. She's keeping an eye on it.

Would have thought I would see more feedback on this subject.

I couldn't find anything on the internet regarding persistent traces of protein in urine. However, I did find one article where the doctor said if the patient has trace amounts of protein in urine to reassure the patient it was probably an isolated incident and recheck after a few months. If trace amounts are still present after a few months then begin further investigation into possible kidney disease. Or other potential causes. So that makes me think persistent trace amounts of protein is not normal.
