From 36.6 to 54. Limited sodium, potassium, phosphorous and protein. Additional water and some exercise. So yes, it can be done. But I will know better after my next blood test in July.
Mine was stuck at 38 for 6 months then was told that I should go on a low protein, low salt diet. I started drinking more water and tried to cut out meat as much as possible. After a couple of months of being on this diet, mine went up to 44 and now 47. I am hoping it continues to climb as my kidney heals.
At its lowest, my GFR was 32. My current GFR, done Three weeks ago was 57. Between those numbers, I've gone up and down (yo-yoing). GFR is only a snapshot and there are numerous things, including medications, exercise, diet and other health issues that can contribute to the fluctuation. Chart your numbers and watch for trends.
hi i had kidney problems for 52 years and i never had a higher reading thana previous one..i think its more of a case of stablising rather than increasing regards chris
